GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAM ON DECEMBER 12th IN SAN FRANCISCO COMMEMORATES
3rd ANNIVERSARY OF SANDY HOOK
WHAT: The program on December 12 not only commemorates the 3rd anniversary of the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School where 20 children and 6 teachers and staff were fatally shot. WHY? Mario Woods, and 43 lives lost to gun violence in our city SF are too many and the thousands of lives lost in our nation. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, ALL LIVES MATTER!
Gun violence is the leading cause of death for African American Males and young men of color in this country. “We want to go to graduations and not funerals” Universal background checks for all gun sales are supported by 90% of Americans – yet 40% of guns are sold in America today with no questions asked (at gun shows, online, etc). We want a strong federal law to make America safer. If gun violence is not a public health epidemic now, when will it be? Stand-Up, Speak-Up & Get-Up with US on December 12th for the future of our city and America and to help save lives!
There are three main parts to the program:
- Gun Buyback. A concrete way for us to make our city safer. No questions asked, $100 for a handgun, $200 for assault weapons.
