A Waco Texas native, Reverend Aubrey Lewis has been a member of Third Baptist for 35 years. A man of learning, Rev. Lewis received his Associate of Arts Degree with honors from San Francisco City College and graduated Cum Laude from San Francisco State University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Health Education and Psychology.

As Assistant to the Pastor, Rev Lewis has endeared himself both to the congregation as Minister of Visitation and as an active member of the Church's New Member, Bereavement and Baptism Committees, and also to the community through his weekly evangelism efforts.

Married to Deacon Viola Lewis for 39 wonderful years, they have 3 daughters, 1 son, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and are considered "treasures" at TBC!

A graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. Rev. Allen and his family relocated to San Francisco in August 2010 in what was an undoubtedly God-arranged and God-ordained plan. Since his arrival, Rev. Allen has worked tirelessly in enhancing the administrative and spiritual services of our church from overseeing the reformation of our website, conducting a church-wide survey, rearranging the Bible Study, nicknaming our church “TBC,” and being available to assist Pastor Brown on a round-the-clock basis. 

A preacher of international exposure, along with his beautiful family, Rev. Allen brings to TBC an intellectual maturity and spiritual depth evidenced by his life-long love of people and search for a deep understanding of the Gospel for which he lives to preach!

Rev. Allen counts it a privilege to work as an understudy of Dr. Amos C. Brown, as he gains a dual education in Church administration as Dr. Brown’s Administrative Assistant, and Theology as a M.Div. student at the San Francisco Theological Seminary. It is his desire to work with fellow staff and leadership in carrying out the vision of TBC!

A graduate from Sacred Heart Cathedral, Rev. Ronson Ballard serves as coordinator of the TBC jail ministry and is also an active member of convalescent ministry. Every third Sunday, Rev. Ballard speaks to the youth at Y.G.C. An avid golfer, Rev. Ballard is also the proud CEO of Ballard Enterprises.

Chaplain to Veterans

WILLARD BOLDEN is a Protestant chaplain at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, San Francisco, CA..  He is responsible for the pastoral care and counseling to veterans, family members and hospital staff at the Ft. Miley facility.

Also Chaplain Bolden conducts religious services and spirituality group meetings at the CLC (Geriatric Center), Santa Rosa and Ukiah VA clinics.

He is a member in good standing with the NBC, USA. Inc., Life member-NAACP & Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He is a graduate of Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA and Morehouse School of Religion\ITC, Atlanta, GA.  Commander  Willard Bolden (RET.) received an Honorable Discharge completing 25 years of  Navy service.

Chaplain Bolden is available to veterans of Third Baptist Church relating to his\her spiritual needs.

Rev. Dawkins is a native of San Francisco, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University in 2006, where he majored in both Africana and Asian American Studies. Rev. Dawkins has enrolled at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, where he will be working towards his Masters of Divinity. Rev. Dawkins has an abundant background in education and ministry. He has served as a Chaplain Intern for the San Francisco County Jails for 10 years under the Rev. Billy Ware Chaplaincy Training Program, which was founded by Dr. Ambrose Carroll, one of Rev. Dawkins' many mentors. Rev. Dawkins has been called to serve on both Prison and College Campus ministries at Third Baptist Church, where he is building a jail to church to college pipeline, assisting in providing services to ex-felons looking to turn their lives around by serving God, and become productive citizens, scholars, and role models to the youth in our communities. Rev. Dawkins is also the founder of 1399 McAllister Music Group, and an avid lyricist, spreading the word of God through Hip-Hop music, working on several projects with the Ben Rayikanti studio at Third Baptist Church. Rev. Dawkins is happily married to the former Jhenene Evans and the proud father of two daughters, J'nyah-Diane and Briana-Ja'nae.

Rev. Johnson, licensed and ordained in the Baptist Church, joined the Third Baptist ministerial staff as Assistant Minister for the Young Adults in 2008 under the tutelage of Rev. Dr. Amos C. Brown. Rev. Johnson is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains currently serving as Staff Chaplain at the California Pacific Medical Center, Davies Campus. Her work involves companioning all persons in moments of joy, grief, crisis and despair. Rev. Johnson is instrumental in the education and training of clergy in all faiths seeking to put their Seminary Training, Theology and/or spirituality into practice in the clinical context.

A native of San Francisco, California, Rev. Johnson received the Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Television and Radio with an emphasis in Television Production from San Francisco State University. Her Undergraduate work includes studying abroad for one year at the Queensland University of Technology of Brisbane, Australia. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Rev. Johnson began graduate study at the Graduate Theological Union: American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, CA. She was awarded a Master of Divinity Degree in 2007. Following seminary, Rev Johnson completed a year long residency with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Educators Inc., a nationally recognized accrediting agency in the field of Clinical Pastoral Education through the U.S. Department of Education. Rev Johnson has Eight units of CPE.
This year Rev Johnson was honored by the National Council of Negro Women Inc. as “Woman of the Year.” In 2010 Rev. Johnson was honored as an "Unsung Healer" by the San Francisco Interfaith Council. She is an active member of the Association for the Association for Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), San Francisco Branch and San Francisco Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., A Public Service Sorority.

Rev. Johnson currently resides in the city of San Francisco. She is the proud daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Reid III and Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Johnson.

  Rev. Michael Jordan

Reverend Michael Jordan comes to Third Baptist by way of Illinois and Alaska where he taught school for 25 years. He served a 9 month ministerial internship before officially joining Third Baptist in the spring of 2007. After receiving his degree in Divinity from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in the winter of 2007, he was ordained in May of 2008. Since then he has helped minister to the youth, taught Sunday School, and organized community walks for the Third Baptist Walkers. In addition to these duties, Reverend Jordan serves as a hospital and hospice chaplain in Calaveras County during the workweek. When time allows he helps his wife Angela with "Angels for Brazil', a nonprofit which serves some of Brazils most desperately poor with medical and educational assistance.

Reverend/ Judge Beverley M. Phillips, U. S. Immigration Judge (Retired), is an Associate Minister and a loyal and faithful member of Third Baptist Church. Reverend Phillips holds the B.A. & J.D. degrees from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Reverend Phillips graduated from the Leadership Institute at Allen Temple, and has done further studies at the American Baptist Seminary of the West. Reverend Phillips was licensed and ordained under the auspices of the Senior Pastor, Dr. Amos C. Brown. Reverend Phillips has held several positions in the church; however, she is currently actively engaged with the WMU (Women's Ministry).

As an Associate Minister at Third Baptist, I am involved in visiting the sick of the church in the hospitals and nursing care homes and homes of  and calling them on the phone to do a check-in and praying for them. I also provide spiritual care, emotional support and counseling when members seek my help and care. I do occasional preaching from the pulpit, speak in funeral and memorial services of some members and do the blessings of infants and participate in doing communion. I also fellowship with some ministers on a regular basis and have prayers. I attend community events once in a while. I attend the church services on Sundays along with my family when I am not on call for my company. As a Hospice Chaplain, I take special interest in the care and well-being of the African-American patients and their families who I get to serve in the SF Bay Area and share with them how Third Baptist and Rev. Brown helped me and my family to immigrate to the US and  invite them to visit and attend the Sunday services.  I also educate and inform my Hospice team in understanding of the African-American experience and provide services accordingly to meet their needs.
