As an Associate Minister at Third Baptist, I am involved in visiting the sick of the church in the hospitals and nursing care homes and homes of and calling them on the phone to do a check-in and praying for them. I also provide spiritual care, emotional support and counseling when members seek my help and care. I do occasional preaching from the pulpit, speak in funeral and memorial services of some members and do the blessings of infants and participate in doing communion. I also fellowship with some ministers on a regular basis and have prayers. I attend community events once in a while. I attend the church services on Sundays along with my family when I am not on call for my company. As a Hospice Chaplain, I take special interest in the care and well-being of the African-American patients and their families who I get to serve in the SF Bay Area and share with them how Third Baptist and Rev. Brown helped me and my family to immigrate to the US and invite them to visit and attend the Sunday services. I also educate and inform my Hospice team in understanding of the African-American experience and provide services accordingly to meet their needs.
