Greetings Beloved! I am delighted to welcome you to "TBC on the Web." As the oldest congregation of African American origins in the West the Third Baptist Church of San Francisco, has followed the example of Jesus of Nazareth and has stood as a beacon of hope and justice in the Bay Area community for over 158 years. Celebrities and social notables, such as Josephine Baker, W.E.B. DuBois, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Actor Danny Glover, President William Jefferson Clinton, and others have attended and been impressed with our worship services during their visits to the Bay Area. No less significant is the presence of the many visitors from as far as Norway, Africa, Australia, and other countries around the world that worship with us regularly during their visits to the Bay Area as well. Here at TBC however, we are not content to have the world reach us. We are determined to reach the world! It is our prayerful expectation that as you peruse our website you will find a Christian community concerned with both the public and private lives of its members, committed to promoting and practicing the gospel of Jesus Christ through communal worship and civic engagement. Through this medium we trust God to meet you where you are not just at TBC but also through TBC!
