Stewards of the Legacy Report

In March 2020, the Reverend Dr. Amos C. Brown, Senior Pastor of the Historic Third Baptist Church of San Francisco (now Pastor Emeritus), established the Stewards of the Legacy Committee (“Legacy Committee”) to ensure the continued vitality of Third Baptist Church as he prepared to announce his retirement. The Committee was tasked to:

  1. Develop recommendations to establish leadership and sustainability of the Church’s Music Ministry;

  2. Develop recommendations to enhance and sustain the Back on Track and Tindley Academy of Music educational programs; and

  3. Develop recommendations to continue the legacy of Rev. Brown’s ministry—advancing the example of Jesus Christ through social justice advocacy and the promotion of African American culture and heritage.
